The New York Botanical Garden: Monet’s Garden

I read about Monet’s Garden Exhibit in the New York Times and it inspired me to venture to the New York Botanical Garden for the first time. Farimah joined me on this beautiful day since she’d never been to the Garden either. Getting to the Bronx took 20 minutes on the Metro-North from Grand Central. Three stops and you’re there.

The sun was beaming down on us when we got there at 12:45 so we started with the tram tour which takes you through the entire Garden. The 250 acres provide an immaculate, serene space that’s equally great for exploration as it is for quiet time if you want to be in greenery without the hustle and bustle of Central Park. The tram tour took about 30 minutes and then we headed to the Conservatory where we were wowed by Monet’s Garden as well as desert plants.

All in all, it was a picture perfect day.

Check back for the desert plant photos – the plants are pretty amazing.
